My Philosophy About You

First, let me thank you for taking the time to read this....You could select from thousands of local Real Estate agents here in Central Virginia and you have arrived here.  That's a great begining for both of us.

My name is Mark and it's important that you understand who I am and what makes me unique in this space.  I am more than anything a husband and a father.  My wife Sherry and I have been married for over 12 years and we have lived in the Twin Hickory Community of Glen Allen since 2004.  We have busy lives just like you. Our 3 very independent kids, though  all grown now, are a very important part of our lives. Friends mean alot to us too! We also like to travel and meet new and diverse people.  My family though, hopefully yours too... are paramount to happiness. 

Though it's generally not a good business proposition to tell a potential client that there is something more important than you, I think you probably understand that this fact insures that I am well aware of how important your family and your home is to you. I never view my clients as  just another business transaction,  but instead as fellow  community members and potential life long  friends.  You are part of a larger community with your own unique hopes, dreams and expectations.  I believe in creating as much unity within that community as I can.  We need to collaborate my Real Estate knowledge and expertise with your individual needs, experiences and desires and find the right path to maximize your buying or selling experience!

My Background

Being from a Navy family I have a very clear understanding of the concept of moving and changing environments. I believe I moved 15 seperate times growing up.  There are numerious issues and concerns that accompany any move. One very important one is that our children are many times impacted more than we ever realize.  I try to always keep that in mind and attempt to include them in our buying or selling planning so they may better understand the process and how it will impact them. I strive to minimize  their fears and negative expectations. This is important. 

I have over 24 years of Sales, Marketing and Negotiating experience with National Companies as well as my own. My first career was a Federal Crash and Rescue Firefighter in Va. Beach which allowed me the time to also coach youth travel soccer. A second very successful career as a Regional Sales Manager in the Educational Marketplace gave me the opportunity to use my design, planning and negotiating skills. I designed educational spaces and specified furniture for K-12 Public and Private Schools, Libraries and Universities.  Real Estate was a logical next step as it incorporates all of my prior work experience as well as my education.  My strength is the ability to stay calm, analyze and manage the Big Picture as well as successfully collaborate with my clients to insure a positive buying or selling experience.  I have a B.S. degree from Christopher Newport University in Community Planning and a minor in Economics. I also studied Architecture and Urban Planning at Virginia Tech.  I have always been interested in design and I love to paint.  I am a big sports fan and hold an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA and USSF B License as a Soccer Coach. This was my love and passion for many many years and I always enjoyed coaching and mentoring youth.
